Luretta Elizabeth Williams passed away on January, 3rd 2018 at her home in Miami, Oklahoma. Luretta was born in Miami December 25th 1944 to John and Ada Marie (Venis) Armagost where she lived all her life. She was a Homemaker and Read Obituary

Luretta was such a beautiful person I am proud to have called her my friend
she will be missed.
Words cannot begin to describe how sad I am for Anthony and the family, due to Luretta’s passing. She touched so many lives in numerous ways and was so friendly and giving to all those who came into her life. Her loss will be felt by many.
We met when Luretta started to school at Afton, many, many years ago. It now seems as though it has been a lifetime. Although we went our separate ways from school days and raised our families, we came back together through PTA in Miami, as well as historical and genealogical research and writing. Had it not been for her constant encouragement, I would never have tackled the Afton History website or completed publication of the book about Afton’s early history. She was such a great help with both!
I will always treasure the time we were able to spend together, from just shopping to doing genealogical and historical interviews. Luretta had her family history research etched in her brain, so in recent years as her sight waned, we had an awfully lot of discussions and checking the computer and books for the families she was researching. These are times I will always treasurer.
Farewell, dear friend…. You were loved by many and hold a special place in the hearts of your family and friends.
Just wanted to say how sorry I was, I remember when we lived with her and Anthony they we're so good to us I will miss her and keep my fond memories in my heart praying for all the family. Love Toni Manning ( Rakes)

I met Luretta 35 years ago when I moved to Oklahoma through genealogy then later we went to auctions together and did flea markets together. The great thing about Luretta was she was always the same so dependable easy to be friends with and always caring. Will miss her so much. Prayers for the family and your loss.
To the Williams family: our sincere empathy and prayers for you all! We lost our mother last May 20 when her house burned. We know the feelings of complete desperation, sorrow that has untold depths, and devastating grief. I'm so so sorry you have to go thru this. We can only pray that the peace of God will wrap you up and hold you close. Like Mary in the Bible, whom Jesus called in her grief for Lazarus, He will call for you. The word "comfort" means to "come forth" to the arms of God. Only there will you find strength to go on with life without your loved one. He will help you deal with the horror of it all. Please know that our whole family is praying for you. We extend love in he name of Christ.

You don't know me, but I am a firefighter who also lost his mother last May 20 in a house fire.
I was the first one on scene and know the desperate feeling of trying vainly to rescue a loved one.
I know you are going to hurt for a long time but let us intentionally turn our eyes toward God. You may not get answers to all your whys but there is comfort to be found in his arms.
