Lucille Ingram's Obituary
Lucille (Thomas) Ingram, a longtime resident of Welch, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw, after a long illness. She was 91 years old. Lucille was born May 14, 1926 in Picher, Oklahoma to William Caston Thomas and Rosa Belle (Brookshire) Thomas. She was married for many years to the love of her life, Keith Ingram. For many years, Lucille and Keith ran a saw mill in the Maybelle District northeast of Welch. They were active together in building caskets and numerous other products out of wood. As they grew older, they moved to a home west of Welch where they continued to work with wood. They would travel from state to state attending Arts and Crafts fairs where they would sell their goods. She was also talented in crocheting, Lucille was a faithful, longtime member of the Welch Christian Church. She had a passion for sharing the Lord with children and would pick up several kids each Sunday and take them to church. On September 25, 1998, Keith preceded her in death. She is also preceded by her parents, one daughter, Pauline Cunningham, one son, Buster Ingram; two brothers, William Paul Thomas and Leon "Booge" Thomas; as well as one sister, Dorthy Smith. Those left behind to mourn her loss include two sons, Ted Ingram and wife Maryann of Welch, and Frank Ingram and wife Beverly of Lawrence, Kansas; one brother, Jim Thomas and wife Lynda of Miami, one sister, JoAnn Ackermann of McKinney, Texas; 30 grand and great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service was held at the Welch Cemetery on Monday, December 4, 2017, where she was laid to rest next to her husband. Minister David Scott, of the Welch Christian Church, officiated.
