Lucile Irene Canada's Obituary
Lucile Irene Canada, 82, of Chetopa, Kansas, passed away late Saturday evening, January 8th, 2022, at her home after an extended illness, surrounded by her family.
She was born February 2nd, 1939 in Columbus, Kansas to Henry Johnson and Freda Vondean (Ferguson) Johnson. She was a high school graduate. She continued her education by attending Labette County Community College where she obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse Degree.
She worked 35 years in medical clinics for area doctors and nursing homes. She was a very caring person and she took pride in caring for the sick and elderly.
She was married to John Canada for 55 years until he passed away on September 21st, 2020.
In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, gardening, and most of all, her grandchildren that she was so proud of.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Allen Canada; and three siblings, Archie and David Johnson, and Doris Casswell.
She is survived by five children, Paula Adler and husband Jerry of Chetopa, Freda Conard of Chetopa, John Canada and wife Mary of Parsons, Steve Dye and wife Roseann of Galena, and Jerry Dye of Chetopa; three siblings, Bill Johnson and wife Diane of Chetopa, Linda Castle of Bonner Springs, and Robert Johnson and wife Sharon of Olathe; eight grandchildren, Laken McKinzie, Riley Conard, Chelsea Adler, Colton Adler, Rachel Canada, Kayla Canada, Brittany Canada, and Austin Pollard; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
