Mrs. Lou Dell Miller's Obituary
Lou Dell Miller, a lifetime Miami resident passed away at her home on Monday, May 21, 2012. She was born on May 14, 1935 in Miami to Wilburn Steve and Addie May (Green) Stines. Lou married John Thomas Miller on December 27, 1955 in Miami. Mrs. Miller worked as a school cook for twenty-five years in the Miami Public School System. After retiring she volunteered as a cherry red later known as the hospital auxillary. She was the only surviving charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Miami where she was very active. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents Wilburn and Addie Stines, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her son John T. Miller Jr. and his wife Denna of Longview, Texas, her daughter Julianna Nelson of Miami, six grandchildren, Maegan Keaton, Calli Miller, Trey Miller, Ashley Nelson, Denny Nelson and Alyssa Nelson, three great grandchildren Karston, Kyrie and Kanon, a sister Carole Howerton of Malveen, Arkansas, a sister Roberta Johnson and her husband Jim of Wichita, Kansas, a brother James Stines and his wife JoLinda of Olathe, Kansas and a sister Shirley Greninger of Claremore, Oklahoma.
Casketbearers will be Jeff Stines, Jimmy Johnson, Denny Nelson, Jamie Stines, Keith Green and Marc Green.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Miami with Reverend C.C. Craig officiating. Interment will follow at the Williams Timberhill Cemetery under the direction of the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
The family ask that memorial donations be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church.
