Loren Harold Hurst's Obituary
Loren Harold Hurst, 66, a resident of rural Vinita, Okla., passed away Thursday evening, November 19, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Loren was born December 18, 1953 in Arkansas City, Kans. to Keith Hurst and Royce (Lack) Hurst. He was a graduate of the Arkansas City High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country for three years.
He worked 35 years as a warehouse manager for Grief Brothers, manufacturing all types and sizes of barrels. After retiring due to an injury, Loren was able to concentrate on his favorite hobby, fishing. He also found pleasure in doing construction projects for Veterans and others less fortunate. He also loved spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephews as well as his great nieces and nephews, and a great great nephew. He was a member of Dupree Baptist Church, the American Legion in Vinita and Arkansas City.
He is preceded in death by his father, Keith Hurst.
He is survived by his mother, Royce Hurst of Vinita; a sister, Teresa Langley and husband Terry of Vinita; two brothers, Terry Lee Hurst and wife Sandy of Hampton, VA, and Leland Hurst and wife Trudy of Arkansas City, KS; 11 nieces and nephews; 25 great nieces and nephews; and one great great nephew.
A graveside service will be held at the Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City, KS on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Gordon Lack will officiate. Military Rites will be conducted by the Arkansas City VFW Post.
In keeping with Loren's wishes, the casket will remain closed.
