Linda Rae Kilman's Obituary
Linda Rae Kilman, 82, a longtime resident of Miami, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Freeman Health System in Joplin, Missouri. Mrs. Kilman was born on September 25, 1943, in Chanute, Kansas, to Charles Ray and Ester (Hixson) Gregory. Linda was a graduate from Cushing High School. After high school, she attended Oklahoma State University where she received her bachelor's degree of science in education and her master’s degree of science curriculum and instruction. She would marry the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Kilman at the First United Methodist Church in Cushing, Oklahoma, on May 29, 1965. Linda’s true passion in life was teaching. She taught math and science at Will-Rogers Junior High and Middle School from 1977 until her retirement in 2004. Linda’s passion was not limited to the classroom. She was a member of the Miami Association of Classroom Teachers, the Oklahoma Education Association, the Backpack for Kids Program, The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa County, the Coat Closet, and the Ottawa County Recycling Program. Mrs. Kilman was very active member of the First United Methodist Church in Miami where she was a member of the chancel choir among many other programs. Mrs. Kilman’s memory will live on as a person who did not know a stranger and a truly caring person who touched the hearts of the many young people that she taught. Many of whom she kept in contact their whole lives. Linda is preceded in passing by her husband, Bob Kilman, daughter, Christine “Christy” Kilman, grandchildren, Kaden Kilman and Gregory Feldkamp, her parents, Ray and Ester Gregory, and sister in laws, Vicky Gregory and Joyce Gregory.
Those left to share the beautiful memory of Mrs. Kilman include her children, Angela Feldkamp and her husband Matthew, Robert Kilman II and his wife Allison, brothers, Joe Gregory and Ronnie Dean Gregory, grandchildren, Zachary Feldkamp, Elizabeth Feldkamp, Levi Feldkamp, Aidyn Kilman, Kinley Kilman, great grandchild, DJ.
Visitation for Mrs. Kilman has been scheduled from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church in Miami. Burial for Mrs. Kilman will follow at 2:00 P.M., at Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa County and Saint Jude Hospital.
