LeRoy H. Schulte, 89, Longtime Afton farmer passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. LeRoy was born in Amarillo, Texas to Herman and Elizabeth (Neiberding) Schulte. In his youth he was a member of the local 4-H and Read Obituary
We extend our sympathy and prayers to the Schulte family. LeRoy and Patricia were a wonderful Catholic example of a loving family. We knew them through the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus when Councils from Pittsburg, Ft. Scott, Scammon, Parsons in Kansas and Miami Oklahoma met together quarterly. We remember when the twins were born.
May LeRoy rest in peace as he joins Patricia in their heavenly home.

Leroy and Patricia were a perfect example of True Christian Love for most of my life. Raising their children using their firmly held faithful Catholic faith. Truly a Marriage made in Heaven. Such good and down to earth people willing to help anyone in need. Leroy remained faithful to the end and is now reunited with Pat in Eternal happiness. Our Privilege to have had them as Friends. Rest In Peace My Good and Faithful Servant!
Leroy and I became friends in Korea in 1954 when he drove a 21/2 ton truck to Mass every Sunday with the Catholics in our unit aboard. He was able to make my year and a half there more tolerable. We exchanged Christmas cards with notes of a years activity every year for many years until his boys were able to find my phone number, then every few months had long conversations. I was very grateful to be able to visit with him a few times when his tour bus was in town for a few days a few years ago. Thank you Michel for assisting him on that trip and so many others he enjoyed. He was in inspiration to many.

I worked with Leroy at Afton schools and one of my favorite memory is the different “theme” hats that Leroy would wear while driving the bus route for Afton schools. He liked doing it because it made the kids happy. Another memory that made the kids happy was on the last bus route before Christmas he had treats and something special for every kid that rode his bus. He was the kindest, gentlest man I have known and working with him was a great honor that I will cherish forever.
One of my earliest memories involves "Uncle Roy". We would be visiting Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Roy (who wasn't married then and still lived with Grandma and Grandpa) would come in from doing chores. He would quickly pick me up, toss me in the air catch me and then proceed to give me a whisker rub, followed by tickling. I giggled like crazy of course while he chuckled. Seems like he had a life full of laughter. RIP
