Leona Rhee Pogue's Obituary
Leona Rhee Pogue passed away Tuesday December 22, 2009 in Miami, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years. Leona was born August 22, 1920 in Anoka, MN to her parents Benjamine and Agnes Flink Bowen. She has lived most all of her life in Austin, Texas while residing in Miami for the past 2 1/2 years.
Leona married Marshall Pogue in Corpus Christi, Tx. in 1953. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Methodist Church and a dedicated Sunday School Teacher. Leona was a member of the Home Garden Cub. She loved to paint and enjoyed all types of art.
Leona is survived by 2 Sons: Claude and wife Patricia Hunt of Afton, Oklahoma and Ben and wife Winnie Hunt of Miami, Oklahoma, 1 Daughter: Leona and Jr. Rhee (Sally) Perez of Onalaska, Texas, 3 Sisters: Peggy Mauller of Commerce, Oklahoma, Dolly McDonal of Corpus Christi, Tx and Eilene LaFrancois of Onalasha, Tx, 10 Grandchildren and numerous Great Grandchildren. Leona is preceded in death by 1 Sister: Bonnie Petterson and 1 Brother.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday December 27, 2009 at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Caldwell, Texas.
