Leo K. Babcock's Obituary
Former Rural Welch, OK farmer, Leo K. Babcock of Collinsville, OK, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at Wood Manor in Claremore after an illness. He had just celebrated his 100th birthday. Leo was born December 13, 1912 on Big Creek, West of Welch, OK, to Amos and Myrtle (Kimery) Babcock. He was married to Genevieve Seger for 67 years. The couple resided on Big Creek where they raised their children. Leo worked as a carpenter and a welder for many years in the surrounding communities. He had a love for agriculture, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing his fiddle for family and friends. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union. Leo was preceded in death by his loving wife on November 8, 2002; He was also preceded by his parents; twin infant sons; and 1 brother, Clifford Babcock. He is survived by 1 son, Darrell Babcock of Owasso; 1 daughter, Deloris Andrews of Collinsville; 3 grandsons, William Andrews, and Raymond and Russell Babcock; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of friends. There will be a visitation for family and friends from noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch. Service will begin at 2:00 p.m., following visitation. Minister Brad Canham will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill and Matt Andrews, Raymond, Russell, and James Allen Babcock, and Trey Keith. Interment at North Edna Cemetery, Edna, KS.
