Lavon Carter's Obituary
Marjorie Lavon Carter, 82, a longtime resident of Tulsa, OK, passed away Thursday, August 21st, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa after an extended illness.
She was born July the 11th, 1943 in Stella, Missouri to Roscoe and Juanee (King) Rickner. She was a graduate of Miami High School. She attended NEO A&M College.
On January the 21st, 1993, she married Gene Carter in a ceremony in Springdale, Arkansas. They made their home in the Tulsa area for many years. He preceded her in death on April the 30th, 2018.
Lavon was the office manager for Fred Jones Lincoln/Mercury in Tulsa for many years, retiring in 2000. In her spare time, she loved collecting antiques and reading.
She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
She is survived by a daughter, Crystal Dossman of Tulsa, and a son, David A. Dossman and wife Jennifer of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Amber Dawn Godby, Robert Dewayne Swartzlander, Molly Dossman, and Mason Dossman: and four great grandchildren, Caleb Murray, Serenity Godby, Eli Dossman, and Jayde Dossman.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August the 27th, 2025, at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
