Larry Eugene Smith's Obituary
Larry Eugene Smith, a longtime resident of Lenapah, Okla, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Claremore, Okla., surrounded by his loving family. He was 70 years old.Larry was born November 17, 1947 in Coffeyville, KS. to Anzel Eugene Smith and Adaline (Comstock) Smith. He was a graduate of Lenapah High School. He attended Technology school in Bartlesville learning heat and air and small engine repair, putting his talents to use. He owned and operated an alternator shop in South Coffeyville for many years. Being one who loved to work, he was also a farmer.On December 27, 1996, he married Virginia Nelson, in Miami, Okla. He was a member of the South Coffeyville Baptist Church and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. He served his country in the United States Army, fighting in the Vietnam war. He loved to fish, hunt, and just tinker around. He is preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Charles Smith.Those mourning his loss include his loving wife, Virginia, of the home; three daughters, Valerie Baldwin of Parsons, Kans., Nikki Carriker of Lenapah, Okla., and Samantha Madison of Coffeyville, Kans.; two step sons, Glen and Kenny Rogers, both of Lenapah, Okla.; his mother, Adaline; one brother, J.D. Smith of South Coffeyville, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America c/o Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service P.O. Box 231 Welch, OK 74369.Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2018, at the Walker Cemetery, northwest of Welch.
