Kenneth Wayne Holliday's Obituary
Kenneth W. Holliday, age 73, of Edna, Kansas, completed his earthly journey on September 14, 2025. Born on August 16, 1952, in Vinita, Oklahoma, he was the beloved son of Martha E. (Jordan) Holliday and Lloyd M. Holliday. Kenneth spent his childhood on a ranch in Welch, Oklahoma, before his family relocated to Edna, where he graduated from Labette County High School.
Kenneth lived a life marked by hard work, resilience, and a deep love for his community. He devoted many years to over-the-road trucking before joining the Bartlett Co-op in Bartlett, Kansas. Thereafter, he accepted a supervisory position at the fertilizer plant in Edna. Although health concerns prompted his early retirement, Kenneth remained deeply invested in the community he proudly called home.
In marriage, Kenneth found his greatest joy alongside his late wife, Sandy. She brought three children to the marriage-Tammy, Lisa, and James-who Kenneth embraced with love and pride. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy; his parents; his brother, Fred Holliday; and his nephew, Kevin Holliday.
Kenneth is survived by his children: Tammy Brown and her husband John of Valeda, Kansas, Lisa Jones and her husband Ernie of Caney, Kansas, and James Summers and his wife Barbie of Kearney, Nebraska. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Xuyen Holliday of Edna, Kansas and two nieces, Carol Thompson and her husband Troy of Coffeyville, Kansas, and Mary Holliday of Edna, Kansas. Kenneth was blessed with numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy. In addition to his family, Kenneth was surrounded throughout his life by a host of dear friends who enriched his day and who he enjoyed spending time with.
Kenneth's journey on earth in now complete, and he is joyfully reunited in Heaven with Sandy, his parents, and his brother. His legacy of kindness, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In accordance with Kenneth's wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life is expected to held at a later date to honor his memory.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Edna Cross Timbers Food Bank.
