Kathy Loraine Mayfield's Obituary
Kathy Loraine Mayfield, 62, a lifelong resident of Welch, Okla., passed away early Friday morning, February 10, 2017, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla. after a short illness. She was surrounded by her loving family as she passed from this life. Kathy was born in Welch on April 21, 1954 to Gerald Covey Riley and Mary Lou (Seibert) Riley. She was a graduate of Welch High School. She worked many years as a waitress at the Hitchin Post Café in Welch. At the time of her death, she was employed as a Home Health Aide with Health Care Innovations. She loved quilting, gardening, and photography. On November 24, 2000, she married George "Shorty" Mayfield at the Welch Christian Church. She is preceded in death by her father. Kathy is survived by her husband, Shorty, of the home; her mother, Mary Lou Riley of Welch; 2 daughters, Amie Williams and Krista Phillips, both of Austin, Texas; 2 sons, Jarrod Phillips of Azle, Texas, and Cody Mayfield of Miami, Okla.; 1 sister, Janene Moss of Welch; 2 brothers, Calvin Riley of Welch, and Aaron Riley of Broomfield, Colo.; 7 grandchildren; one niece, Cortney Bryson; and one nephew, Cody Moss. Private family burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at Walker Cemetery west of Welch. At 2:00 p.m., the family will greet friends at the Welch Baptist Church gymnasium.
