Katherine M. Witt's Obituary
Katherine Witt, 96, a longtime resident of Fairland passed away at Windridge Care and Rehab in Miami on Sunday, May 1, 2016. She was born on January 11, 1920 in Joplin, Missouri to Chester A. and Dora (Riechman) Graninger. She was the oldest of ten children. She later married Benjamin Witt They lived on a farm in Fairland for over sixty years where they raised cattle, Katherine worked the farm into her early nineties. Katherine was preceded in passing by her Husband Benjamin Witt who passed August 23, 2009, a son Franklin Lee Witt, a brother Everett Greninger and sister Anna Lane.
Survivors include her grandchildren Erlinda Ellis and her husband Lee of Glasgow, Kentucky and Merie Fregia and her husband James of Burbank, California, her grandson Ryan Bounphasaysol, her brothers and sisters, Irma Neal, Margaret Herrel, Lee Roy Greninger, Louie Greninger, Rosa Hency, Loretta Mitchell and Robert Greninger.
Graveside services are Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Mr. Doug Rainbolt officiating. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
