Karolyn S. McDaniel's Obituary
Longtime North Miami, Oklahoma resident, Karolyn S. McDaniel, 67, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami, surrounded by her family. Karolyn was born December 1, 1946 in Miami, Oklahoma to Thomas Abraham and Billie Ann (Pritchard) Ray. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. On October 15, 1965, she married the love of her life, Robert McDaniel. The couple made their home in the North Miami area where they raised their two children. Karolyn was an avid homemaker and was a very talented seamstress. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, and crocheting. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Commerce, and was currently attending the First Christian Church of Miami. Karolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law, Bill Rogers. She is survived by her husband, Robert, of almost 49 years; 1 son, Robby McDaniel and his fiancée, Sharla Lamb, of Miami; 1 daughter, Kathy Smith and her husband, Ron, of Verona, MO; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Tommy Ray and wife Joann of Cassville, MO; 1 sister, Judy Rogers of Miami; step-mother, Betty Ray of Commerce; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Karolyn will lie in state at the Paul Thomas Chapel in Commerce. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce. Minister Jerad Joslin will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Bates, Bob Mathis, David Tedlock, Sean Richards, Mike Allen, Bob Evans, and Barry Osborn. Interment at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami, Oklahoma.
