Julia Marie Wallace's Obituary
Julia Marie "Judy" (Woolman) Wallace, age 78, of Welch, OK, passed away the 6th day of January, 2024, at her home, surrounded by family. She was born the 13th day of February, 1945, in Vinita, OK to Louie Lee Woolman, Sr. and Martha Elvie (Glover) Woolman.
Judy attended Hall-Halsell Elementary School, Pheasant Hill, and Vinita High School, all in Vinita.
Judy was married to the love of her life, Paul Mark Wallace, on the 7th day of June, 1962, in Miami, OK. After a short time living in Bluejacket and Miami, they made their home in Welch where they lived for over 40 years.
Judy worked for Glenn Berry Mfg. in Commerce where she made military fatigues. She also worked at a hat place in Miami, Welch School in the cafeteria, and at Home of Hope as a Certified Medical Assistant.
Judy loved the outdoors. She spent a lot of time gardening and taking case of the lawn by growing various flowers and plants. Earlier in life, she was an avid horse rider. Most of her life was spent riding and taking care of horses. She even had two miniature ponies she loved to take care of while living in Welch. She was also a dog owner of various breeds that gave her great joy in life. She and Paul would spend many hours fishing in their pond or reading a book. She loved to read but her favorite past-time was spending time with family. Those precious times she got to spend with her grandkids and great grandkids were the most treasured events. But she loved being around all her family and friends.
Judy and Paul were members of the Welch Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for many decades. Many conversations were spoken of what we thought Jesus really looked like. She finally got her question answered when she stepped into heaven to see him face to face.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Martha Woolman; sisters Ina Lou Speck and Barbara Ann Cook; brother Louie Lee Woolman, Jr.; brothers in law Larry Wright, Charles Vincent Cook, Jess Walker, James Wallace; sisters in law Twila Woolman, Thelma Walker, and Ida Mae Long.
She is survived by her two children, Sherry Swineheart (Daniel) of Oklahoma City, and Terry Wallace of Miami; two grandchildren, Lindsey Norton (CJ) of Moore, OK, Chris Swineheart of OKC; two great grandchildren, Cameron and Grant Norton of Moore; one sister, Inez Wright; two sisters in law, Francis Wallace and Edith Cox; two brothers in law, Leon Long and Roy Cox; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Many people have been the recipients of her kindness throughout her lifetime. She was a very generous person, always ready to help out whenever a need arose. She instilled in her kids to always watch for areas to help others.
Following cremation, she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Paul, at the Pheasant Hill Cemetery, Northwest of Vinita.
