Judy Chandler's Obituary
Judy Ann Chandler, 74, of rural Afton, OK, passed away August 2nd, 2023, at her home, after a period of declining health.
She was born July 17th, 1949 in Afton to James P. Allen and Wilma Lorene (Matney) Allen. She was married to John Freed for a number of years. He preceded her in death. She later married Russell Chandler on July 26th, 2019, in a ceremony held at Russell's home behind the barn where the best man was his donkey, Jack.
Judy had worked in the kitchen at Eastern State and most recently at Pillsbury in Vinita before retiring. She loved playing cards, Yahtzee, and singing around the house. She was member of the House of Prayer in Fairland.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, April Dawn Jones; one sister, Linda Chandler; twin brother, James Lee Allen and brother Raymond Dale Allen.
She is survived by her husband, Russell; two sons, Jason Jones and Jerard Jones and wife Joni, all of Vinita; one step-son, Dusty Chandler, three step-daughters, Hope Chandler, Darla Custer, and Beth Chandler; Grandchildren, Heath, Hayden, Trinity, Addison, Tatum, Trenton, and Tanner; niece, Mary; two nephews, James and Kevin; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, August 6th, at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 7th, at the Bluejacket Cemetery. Pastor Leroy Bickford will officiate. Interment will follow. Casket bearers will be James Chandler, Kevin Chandler, Keith Hurst, Mike O"Dell, Brian Christian, and Cody Chandler. Honorary casket bearers will be Trenton Jones, Tanner Jones, Heath Jones, Hayden Jones, Chandler Hurst, Cameron Hurst, Dusty Chandler, Rowdy Chandler, and Lane Chandler.
