Judith Ann Rogers' Obituary
Judith Ann (Judy) Rogers, 76, of Miami, Okla., passed away early Monday morning, August 16th, 2021, at her daughters home, after a long illness.
She was born November 8th, 1944 in Miami, Okla. to Thomas A. Ray Jr. and Billie Ann (Pritchard) Ray. On January 9th, 1962, she married her high school sweetheart, William Leonard (Bill) Rogers, in a ceremony in Commerce. They made their home in Commerce, Okla. She was a member of the Commerce Christian Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in Vacation Bible School. After its closing, she attended the Southeast Baptist Church.
After the passing of Bill on May 18th, 2003, she moved to Miami. She loved being a homemaker. She was skilled in the art of embroidery. Her biggest priority was her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Commerce and the Elks Lodge #1320 in Miami.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; a daughter, Sharon Rogers-Wyatt; and a sister, Karolyn McDaniel.
She is survived by her children, Karrie Sisson and husband Stephen, and Gary Rogers and wife Frankie, all of Miami; grandchildren, Zackary Turley and wife Michelle, Chance Turley, Kassaundra Leonard and husband Leo, Billy Rogers, Ruth Ann Stone, and Courtney Ross; great grandchildren, Levi and Gunner Turley, Ryver Ross, Gavin and Kinzie Perry, and Kiera and Alex Rogers; a brother, Tommy Ray and wife JoAnn of Cassville, MO; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Commerce on Wednesday, August 18th, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 19th, also at the chapel. Minister Sandra Ross and Pastor Jim Clay will officiate. Casket Bearers will be Rick Patterson, Nathan Allen, Randy Ray, Jonah Ray, Jimmy Rogers and Mickey Rogers.
Judy will be laid to rest next to Bill in the GAR Cemetery in Miami.
