Joyce James' Obituary
Miami Business Woman, Joyce James, 76, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS, after an illness. Joyce was born March 19, 1937 in Jacksonville, AR to Pirdy J. and Dora B. (Walton) Langley. She was a graduate of Glen Rose High School in Malvern, AR and attended Draughn's Business College in Little Rock. On February 21, 1972, she married Doyle James. The couple made their home in Miami where they owned and operated Doyle James Bonding Company together. Joyce retired in 2002, after 20 years. After retirement, Joyce enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Doyle, of 41 years; 2 sons, Pat Curry and Wayne James, both of Miami; 1 daughter, Carla Banning of Lenapah; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Bobby H. Langley; 1 sister, Faye Miller, both of Benton, AR; 9 nephews; 1 niece; and a host of friends. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami. Pastor Phil Shyers will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Glenn, George Couch, Arnold Long, Jimmy Johnson, Gary Curlee, and John Luttrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Jones, Rick Fields, Tom Richards, Leroy Collins, Tom Arnold, and Jim Florio. Interment at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami, OK. The body will lie in state at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
