Joyce Joann Hubbard's Obituary
Joyce Joann (Harris) Hubbard, 56, of rural Miami, OK, passed away unexpectedly at her home Sunday morning, April the 19, 2026.
She was born May the 30th, 1969, in Joplin, MO to Jackie Jerry and Joyce (Carver) Harris. She was a graduate of Quapaw High School. After graduating high school, she attended some college classes.
On May the 31st, 2003, she married the absolute love of her life, David Hubbard, in a ceremony at the Commerce Christian Church. They made their home west of Miami. She was currently employed at the offices of Geren & Duboise, CPA, in Commerce, OK. She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Miami.
In her free time, she loved playing cards, camping with her nieces and nephews, watching OU softball, and hanging with her "ladies of the 80's" friends. She loved her nieces and nephews dearly. She was the best aunt anyone could ask for.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Harris; and her brother, Jerry Wayne Harris.
She is survived by her husband, David, of the home; her father and stepmother, Jackie and Shirley Harris; two siblings, Christy Metcalf and Linda Thames; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Marilyn Kropp, Liz Scott, Vicki Stokes, Melanie Shawnee, and Shelly Forkum.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April the 23rd, 2026, at the First Christian Church in Miami. Services will follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Brian Brubaker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Myaami Heritage Cemetery (Miami Nation). Nephews will serve as casket bearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that Joann be remembered by making a donation to the First Christian Church Building Fund, 2424 N. Main St. Miami, OK 74354.
