Joyce Ann Abbott's Obituary
Joyce Ann Abbott, of Claremore, OK, passed away early Sunday morning, June 26, 2016 at the Claremore Nursing Home. She was 75 years old. Joyce was born on May 23, 1941 in Hominy, OK to Virgil Blair and Ruth (Goodman) Blair. She was married to Albert Abbott, who preceded her in death on July 10, 2009. She worked for several years in area nursing homes. She then became a full time homemaker, doing what she really loved, caring for her family. She was of the Assembly of God faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. She is survived by 3 daughters, Janice Slavens of Claremore, Anita Childers and husband Larry of Claremore, and Sandra Johnson of Afton; 3 sons, Marty Owens of Claremore, Chris Owens and wife Kim of Ketchum, and Dennis Slavens of Hickory Grove; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Welch Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
