Johnny Burton Eddings' Obituary
Johnny Burton Eddings, 41, of Commerce, OK , passed away peacefully on March 18th, 2023 surrounded by his family and close friends.
Johnny was born April 7th, 1981 in Miami, Oklahoma. He was a 1999 graduate of Commerce High School where he enjoyed playing baseball and football.
At an early age he began working alongside his dad in the family tire business. He later obtained his welding certificate and went to work for Shepherd's Dock Construction on Grand Lake.
Johnny was an avid OU football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He thoroughly enjoyed watching and attending games with his closest friends.
Johnny's greatest love in life was music. He used his knowledge of music to communicate with friends and family by choosing songs for them based on their mood. He knew how to make you feel better, comfort you and hype you up by simply choosing a song for you to listen to.
Johnny is survived by his loving sister Pam (Pah) Waltz of the home, two nieces Christine Waltz, Tulsa, OK and Ashlynn Waltz, Henryetta, OK, one great niece Dil Mekler, Henryetta, OK and many other loving family and close friends that he considered family. He was preceded in death by his parents Burt and Carol Eddings and several other family members and his childhood best friend Ryan Cole.
Services have been placed in the care of Thomas-Chenoweth Funeral Home, Welch, OK.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 24th from 6 to 8 pm at the Thomas-Chenoweth Funeral Home, Welch, OK. His celebration of life service, officiated by Josh Bear (close friend/brother) will be held Saturday, March 25th at 10 am at Commerce Middle School Gymnasium, with burial following in GAR Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his (best friends/brothers): Marty Cook, Luke McDugle, Timmy Lewis, Cory Thompson, Dustin Rhodes, Josh Brunscheen, Carlos Nava, Logan Lett and Brad Murphy. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ashley Williams Johnson and Jennifer Rhodes.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests, in memory of Johnny, donations to be made to: The Mickey Mantle Classic Baseball Tournament in care of Thomas-Chenoweth Funeral Home, P.O. Box 231, Welch, OK 74369.
