Jimmy Ray Moss' Obituary
Jimmy Ray Moss, 61, of rural Welch, Okla., passed away early Friday morning, November 27, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born June 6, 1959 in Picher, Okla. to Richard and Lois (Spotts) Moss. On June 1, 1979, he married the love of his life, Janene Riley, in a ceremony at the Welch Methodist Church.
Jimmy served in the National Guard for 6 years. He worked over 30 years at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita. In his spare time, he enjoyed coon hunting, working with his horses and mules, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Moss; a brother, Charles Moss; a sister in law, Kathy Mayfield; and his grandparents, Roy and Thelma Spotts, and Frank and Ollie Moss.
He is survived by his wife, Janene, of the home; a son, Coty Moss and wife Stephanie of Bluejacket; a daughter, Cortney Bryson and husband Dustin of Stillwater; his mother, Lois Moss of Bluejacket; 4 siblings, Shirley Vail and husband Robert of Vinita, David Moss and wife Janet of Miami, Tammy Walls and husband Charley of Welch, and Sheila Cook and husband Gerald of Muskogee; his grandchildren, Alyssa Pendergraft, Colton Moss, Bentley Moss, Kegan Bryson, and Kimber Bryson; his brothers in law, Calvin Riley and wife Trena of Welch, Aaron Riley of Welch, and a sister in law, Rhonda Moss of Bluejacket; his mother in law, Mary Riley of Welch; along with several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, at the Walker Cemetery, west of Welch. Minister Jesse Burns will officiate. Family members will serve as casket bearers.
