Jill Coleen Micka's Obituary
Jill Coleen Micka, 60, of Miami, Oklahoma passed away at her home on Monday, December 23, 2024. She was born in Miami on May 15, 1964, to John Jacob and Lorene (Jones) Micka.
Jill was a member of the Miami high class of 1982, while going to school and then while getting her associate's degree she worked at the Miami Public Library, she then went on to Oklahoma State University for her bachelor's degree and attained her masters at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She taught special needs at an early childhood development center in Fayetteville. When returning to Miami she was in counseling at ROCMND youth center, Willow Crest Hospital, and worked for the LEAD agency teaching high school students about the environment. She was also involved in her church. Jill played Clarinet, Saxophone, and guitar. Loved animals and to read. She was very funny and voted wittiest in the class of 82. She had many friends was an active member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church. Jill always put others first and minimized her own problems.
Jill was preceded in passing by her parents John and Lorene Micka.
Survivors include her husband Damon Michael Montgomery, her sisters Tina Jones, Lou Ann Caywood and Paulette Austin, along with her dog Andy. Jill was also survived by many friends and other relatives.
Services are at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Miami. Burial will immediately follow at the All Saints’ Episcopal Church’s Memorial Garden. Reverend Mary Susan Whaley and Reverend Kay Bowman-Harvey will be officiating. Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami. There will be a time of Visitation following the service in the church's fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made the All Saints’ Episcopal Church or to the LEAD Agency.
