Janie Kay Hargis' Obituary
Janie Kay Hargis left her earthly home to be with her Savior in her heavenly home on Sunday,
February 5, 2017. Janie was born October 5, 1968 to Jane Louise (Allen) Lewis in Muskogee,
OK.
Janie was a free-spirit and made everyone feel loved and accepted. She loved to laugh and her
laugh was infectious. Janie was the most compassionate person you could ever know. She
never stopped for an ambulance without praying for the person inside. Janie loved the Lord and
prayed daily for her friends and family. She enjoyed listening to many genres of music and
watching movies. Throughout her life she had many “fur” children she adored. There was
never a better advocate for all God’s creatures than Janie. Janie loved people the way Jesus
loved people, a “come as you are” kind of love that is rare to find. To know her was to love her.
She is preceded in death by her Granddaddy and Grandmother, William and Pauline Allen. She
is survived by her husband Stacy Smith of Broken Arrow, OK; her son Blake and wife Rachele
of Grove, OK; her son Trapper Charboneau and wife Natasha of Muskogee, OK; daughter
Jessica Nunley and husband Cody. Grandchildren Cohen, Maddox, Keastin, Kylie, Klhoe,
Karter, Polly, Elle, Emmy and Pippa, her mother Jane Lewis of Broken Arrow, OK; brother Jack
Lewis and wife Sherry of Muskogee, OK; Sister Julie Tatum of Claremore, OK; and sister Jill
Tincher and husband David of Grove, Ok; along with her fur children Willie and Jethro and many
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation is Friday, February 10, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Brown-Winters Funeral Home in Miami,
OK.
Graveside Services are 10:00 AM Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Grand Army of the Republic
Cemetery in Miami with Reverend Sam Smith officiating. Services have been placed in the care
of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
