Janell Keyser's Obituary
Janell Keyser, 87, of rural Miami, gained her heavenly wings Wednesday, June 23, 2021. Janell was born in Quapaw, Oklahoma to Tom and Nell (Owens) Yost on July 20, 1933. Mrs. Keyser loved to be outdoors and never missed a chance to be in the hayfield. She was a beloved cook for Wyandotte Schools and would often be noticed by former students who loved her. She was known to have kept an apron filled with goodies to pass out to students. She loved to crochet and would do so for everyone she knew. She loved placing their crotched name in a frame to be displayed and many newborn babies were blessed by her gift. Her family was her life. She never missed an event they were participating in, whether it was showing animals at the fair, ball games or dance recitals. She had a fondness for FFA and agriculture second to none.
She married the love of her life December 26, 1952 and they have been inseparable ever since. If you saw one, the other was sure to be close by.
Janell is preceded in passing by her parents Tom and Nell Yost, daughters Marilyn Mayfield and Marsha Keyser, and one brother and one sister.
Those left to share her memory are husband Luther Keyser, of the home, daughter Pam Burgess and husband Scott, son in law Gary Mayfield, grandchildren Mike Mayfield and wife Ashley, Shane Burgess and wife Heather, Heather Flannigan and husband Jason, great grandkids Jenna Burgess, Kade Burgess, Delanie Roblyer, and Emerie Flannigan, sisters Waneta Newman and Kay Schulte.
There will be a visitation on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami, Oklahoma.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10:00 am at Newman Cemetery in Quapaw, Oklahoma.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Welch FFA program or Wyandotte FFA program in memory of Janell.
