James E. Winton's Obituary
James E. Winton, 81, of Miami, Okla., passed away Sunday, June 5th, 2022, at Integris Miami Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 28th, 1940 in Vinita, Okla. to Don Elmer Winton and Anna Lois (Parker) Winton. He was a graduate of White Swan High School in Yakima, WA. He married the former Darlena Schumacher on April 29th, 1992.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 5 years. He worked for many years as a meat salesman for both Hodges Meat Company in Tulsa, and Mountain View Meat Company in Stilwell, OK. He also worked alongside his wife managing several local restaurants.
He loved his kids and grandchildren, and watching them play sports was always a highlight for him. He also loved fishing and his dogs. He was a member of the Saint Ann Catholic Church in Welch.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a step daughter, Kathy Bradshaw; a sister, Alene Grigsby; and a brother, Bobby (Red) Winton.
He is survived by his wife, Darlena, of the home; three children, JR Winton and wife Paula, Chris Winton, and Janine Stovall and husband Mark of Frankston, TX; a stepson, Kenny Bradshaw and wife Kim; a sister, Donna Tinsley; his grandchildren, Korina Cummings and husband Aaron, Jacob Stovall and wife Toni, and Morgan and Mya Winton; his step grandchildren, Kenton Bradshaw and wife Katie, Kendal Bradshaw and wife Samantha, Leah and Micah Spears, Craig Spears, Steve Stovall and Brittany Stovall; 4 great-grandchildren, 11 step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held for family and friends at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home on Friday, June 10th, from 6-7 p.m. A rosary will follow, beginning at 7 p.m. A Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11th, also at the funeral home, with Jim Schumacher officiating.
