James McColey's Obituary
Tulsa, Oklahoma resident, James Edgar McColey, born November 5, 1939 to Jerry Loren McColey and Grace Elsie (Melvin) McColey, passed away August 13, 2016 at Clarehouse in Tulsa, after a battle with cancer. He was 76 years old. James was a graduate of Labette County Community High School. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy from 1954-1957. In the 1960's, he worked as a Siesmic Geologist. In 1972, he graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. After college he took a job as a mechanic for Unit Rig where he worked for many years. James was an avid model builder, and was known for his remarkable research of history and geneology. He is survived by 2 nephews, Terrell Longwith, and wife Annette of Spring, TX, and Keith Longwith of Denver, CO; 2 nieces, Brenna Longwith and Karen Maxwell, both of Denver, CO; 1 aunt, Edna Mae Richmond of Tulsa, OK; cousin, Rita and husband Bob of Missouri; several great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Lake Creek Cemetery, Bartlett, KS. Rev. Randy Frazier will officiate. Interment following.
