James Leonard Collins' Obituary
James Leonard Collins, 48, of Commerce, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Freeman Health System in Joplin, Missouri. He was born on February 8, 1968 to Glen Collins and Jeanne (Jameson) Todd. He married his wife of 25 years, Lisa, on August 4, 1991.
James enjoyed working on his tractor and spending time with his family. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start several businesses throughout his lifetime. These businesses included Brothers Tire & Wrecker, recently, Collins Towing & Recovery and many more. He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Jeanne.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa, his children, J.R. Collins and wife Melanie of Commerce, Bryce Collins of Edmond, and Leah Collins-Franks and husband Scott of Commerce, as well as two grandchildren, Landin and Gracie Collins. Other survivors include three sisters, Deborah Todd of Commerce, Nancy Hinkle of Arkansas, and Jackie Weatherly of Arkansas.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Services are Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 10:30 AM at GAP Church with Reverend Jim Land officiating. Interment will follow at the Ottawa Indian Cemetery in Miami.
The family has requested that attendees dress casual.
