Irene Sherard's Obituary
Mrs. Irene Sherard passed into eternity on Thursday December 9, 2010 in Baxter Springs, Kansas at the age of 85 years. Irene was born in Commerce, Oklahoma to her parents Tom and Nellie Marshall on October 2, 1925.
Irene was a home maker and has resided in the area since 1945. On January 21, 1945 Mr. Thomas Sherard took Miss Irene Marshall as his bride in Vinita, Oklahoma. She and Thomas were longtime members of Bethany Christian Church of Miami, Oklahoma.
Although Irene is no longer with us, her memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include:
1 Son: Gary Sherard of Chanute, Kansas, 2 Daughters: Kathy Smith of Joplin, Mo. And Alene Teague Jones of Leavenworth, Kansas, 2 Brothers: Walter Marshall of Quapaw, Ok and Tommy Marshall of Commerce, Oklahoma, 1 Brother in law: Jack Young of Commerce, Oklahoma, 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Irene is preceded in death by her husband: Tom Sherard, Parents: Tom and Nellie Marshall, 2 Brothers: Carl and Harvey Marshall and 1 Sister: Leona Young.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday December 13, 2010, Graveside at GAR Cemetery with Mother Susan Connell officiating.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday December 12th, 2010 from 3-5 PM at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home.
