Hubert "Junior" Spencer Jr.'s Obituary
Hubert Spencer Jr., known by his friends and family as Junior, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Junior was born November 2, 1957, in Joplin, Missouri, to Hubert (Red) Spencer Sr. and Vivian (Schubert) Spencer. Junior is preceded in passing by his sister Vanessa Gleidt and his father, Red Spencer. He is survived by his wife of forty eight years, Susan Spencer, daughters, Laci Couch and her husband Wade, Amber Schertz and her husband Dusty, mother, Vivian Spencer, and Junior’s siblings, Valessa Swanson and Perry Spencer. Grandchildren include Kathleen Schertz, Roman Couch, Tyne Couch, and Tucker Schertz.
Junior started working in high school breaking horses. He won the state FFA horse award and was ranked second nationally. After high school Junior was on the rodeo circuit for several years riding bareback horses. Junior then worked at G & W Farms milking and farming for seven years. The family moved to Florida in 1984, where he became the herd manager for W.H. Stuart Ranch. He then took the position as an AI technician for Progressive Genetics . Junior brought the family back to Fairland in 1991 to start Central Genetics. He continued his AI and embryo transfer as well as raising cattle. He then became manager at Woody Crest Farms in 2002. Junior left Woody Crest Farms in 2022 to manage his ranch with his wife, Susan. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing with grandkids, and restoring old vintage vehicles.
There will be a visitation for Junior from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland, Oklahoma.
