Helen Marguerite Williamson's Obituary
Helen Marguerite Williamson, 95, of Miami, OK, received her heavenly reward on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Leisure Living in Miami, OK. She was a longtime Welch, OK resident, moving to Miami several years ago. She was born August 18, 1920 in the Timberhill area of Craig County, OK to Alvin Collins and Lula (Huff) Collins. On September 4, 1937, she married Harry G. Williamson. After 42 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on November 24, 1979. She was a longtime member of the Welch Christian Church. She was a high school graduate and obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing from NEO A&M College. She retired from Eastern State Hospital in Vinita, OK where she worked as a Registered Nurse. Helen loved to quilt, read books, work word puzzles, garden, and most of all, spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sons, 9 brothers, 3 sisters, one great grandson, and one daughter in law. She is survived by 5 daughters, Carol Nading of Welch, OK, Melody Wright and husband Rodney of Joplin, MO, Linda Schoonover and husband Larry of Tulsa, OK, Louise Hardaway and husband Jim of Nashville, TN, Rhonda Price and husband Tim of Valley Center, KS; one son, Robert Williamson and wife Lola of St. Charles, MO; 23 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. A visitation will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch on Monday, December 7, 2015 from 6-7:00 p.m. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8 , 2015 at the Welch Christian Church. Minister Brad Canham will officiate. Burial will follow in the Williams Timberhill Cemetery, east of Welch. Grandsons will serve as casketbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Welch Christian Church.
