Hattie Oleta Langley's Obituary
Hattie Oleta Langley, 92, of Vinita, OK, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born September 14, 1924 at the family home in Bluejacket to Truman Hatfield (Doc) Ruggles and Ethel Oleta (Ninemire) Ruggles. Hattie was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She worked at Evans Bakery and Flag and Apron in Vinita after she had her children raised. She lived in Bluejacket until she married Andrew Daniel (A.D.) Langley on Septebmer 27, 1941. They made their home in Centralia until 1949 when they moved to Bluejacket. Hattie loved cooking, cleaning, gardening, and sewing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew (A.D.) Langley; twin daughters Carol Lynn and Carla Sue; her parents, Doc and Ethel Ruggles; a brother, T-Boy Ruggles; two sisters, Tubby Satterwhite and Jean Countryman; and one great-great granddaughter, Angel. She is survived by her children, Bob Langley, Tom Langley and wife Vivian of St. Genevieve, MO, Linda Christian of Vinita, Corky Warden and husband Jack, Butch Langley and wife Cathy, Joe Langley and wife Betty, all of Bluejacket, Pam Nowlin and husband Mike, Terry Langley and wife Teresa, Brenda Neal and husband Narvin, all of Vinita, and Cindy Merit of Miami; 38 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren, and 29 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Welch from 6-7 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017. Services will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bluejacket Baptist Church. Pastor Leland Bartlett and Pastor Wesley Davis will officiate. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Bluejacket Cemetery.
