Harry G. Way's Obituary
Harry Way, 88, of Seneca, Missouri, passed away March 3, 2015 at his home following a lengthy illness, with his family by his side. Harry was born April 10, 1926 in Vinita, Okla. to Emerson and Mamie (Olrich) Way. He was a lifelong resident of Miami, recently moving to Seneca. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946, during World War II. Harry was retired from both B.F. Goodrich and the Miami Police Department. He was a Master Pistol Shooter, obtaining many awards and trophies. He will be remembered as a devout family man and trusted friend. He is survived by Ruby, his wife of 43 loving years, his five children, Dan Way and wife Leigh, of Selmer, Tenn.; Stephen Way and wife Loretta, of Discovery Bay, Calif.; Terry Way and wife Carol, of Quapaw, Okla.; Teresa Trone and husband Dean, of Miami, Okla.; and David Way of Neosho, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bill Way. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. Services will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 also at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. Burial will follow at the Welch City Cemetery in Welch, Okla. Casket bearers will be retired police officers Gary Ice, Tom Robertson, Jim Bryant, Jerry Stelle, Harold Smith, and Kelly Witten. Honorary casket bearers will be other retired officers. Military Rites will be performed by American Legion Post #147, Veteran's Funeral Detail.
