Harold James Shere's Obituary
Harold James Shere, a resident of rural Welch, OK, passed away December 31, 2015 at his home, after an illness. He was 64 years old. Harold was born August 20, 1951 in the Maybelle District northeast of Welch to Harold Shere and Laura (Emert) Shere. He married Virginia Smith on February 7, 1998. He drove a truck for many years for Tri-State Trucking in Joplin, MO. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He loved living on his farm. He found great joy in raising chickens and livestock. He also enjoyed gardening and he would spend hours tending to his vegetables. Harold is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Shere, of the home; his mother, Laura Mills and his step-father Dave Mills of Wentworth, MO; three children, Jarrod Causey, Mark Waldrop, and Kathy Anastis; six siblings, Carolyn Sue Robeson of Anderson, MO, Ron Shere of LaSalle, MI, Rick Shere of Anderson, MO, Randy Shere of Anderson, MO, Ralph David Mills of Wentworth, MO, and Brian Mills of Virginia; along with numerous nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch, OK from 4-6:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch. Pastor Tyson Wynn will officiate. After the service, Harold will be cremated and his ashes buried with his father at the Welch Cemetery.
