Greg Wooten's Obituary
Greg Wooten, 79, of Welch, OK, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Craig General Hospital, Vinita, OK, after a sudden illness. He was born March 31, 1936 in Corpus Christy, TX to Charles Gregory and Mildred (Rhodes) Wooten. Greg owned and operated a tire shop in Welch for many years. He was also known for building trailers and selling metal to local farmers and ranchers. He enjoyed drinking coffee daily with friends at TAG Convenience Store. Greg was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by 3 sons, Denny Wooten and wife Tina of Catoosa, OK, Gary Wooten of Welch, and Charlie Wooten and wife Caroline of Norwalk, Iowa; 1 daughter, Pamela Phelps and husband Robin of Pottsboro, TX; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Wayne Wooten and Billy Hicks; 2 sisters, Sue Fulton, and Brenda Cook; and a host of friends. A visitation for family and friends will be from 4-6pm Friday, May 1, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home, Welch. No services will be held. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
