Grace L. Messick's Obituary
Grace L. "Gracie" Messick, 86, of Vinita, OK, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Heartsworth Nursing and Rehab in Vinita, after a long illness.
She was born August 13, 1932 in Powell, Wyoming to Sexton William Jones and Leah Arthella (Marrott) Jones.
She owned a leather shop in Linwood, CA for 15 years. Upon coming to the Vinita area, she worked at Chezzie's in Ketchum and at Shout and Sack in Vinita, where everyone called her "Gracie". In her spare time, she was an accomplished seamstress and she loved to watch old westerns.
She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Don Jones and Clyde Williams.
She is survived by six children, Troy Messick (Stephanie) of Vinita, Robin Wilkerson (Gary Sheer) of Missouri, Terry Rossman (Denny) of Arizona, Sherry Brestar (Gene) of Washington, Susan Dougal of Oregon and John Ward of California; 11 brothers and sisters; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Timpson Chapel Cemetery, with Chaplain Dave Tallé officiating.
