Gloria J McCoin's Obituary
Gloria J. McCoin, 85, a resident of Afton, Oklahoma, passed away at home on Monday, May 18, 2026. Gloria was born on August 31, 1940, in Panama, Oklahoma to Lonnie and Etta Clara (Choate) Jacobs. She graduated from Miami High School. After her and Ed McCoin were married, they settled in the Afton area. She worked at the Afton Public Schools for many years as the kids were going through school and even as the grandchildren had started school. Gloria was known for her cooking. She had a meal every night for whomever Ed brought home or the kids. Most of the time if you saw Gloria around the house, she had her apron on. She was a member of Bar-None Cowboy Church in Afton. Gloria was preceded in passing by her parents, Lonnie and Etta Jacobs; her loving husband, Ed McCoin; her daughter, Vickie Tipton; and her son-in-law, Craig Crane.
Those left to share her recipes are her son Eddie McCoin and his wife Teresa of Afton, daughter Lari Crane of Monkey Island, son Eddie Hudspeth and his wife Melissa, of Afton, her grandchildren, Cutter McCoin, Clay McCoin, Robby Tipton and his girlfriend Mariah, Randi Todd and her husband Jake, Coy Crane and his wife Cheyanna, Loni King and her husband Tyler, Jacie Ponder and her husband Nathan, along with her great grandchildren Call Tipton, Cashlyn Todd, Cale Todd, Camryn Crane, Caden Crane, Slade Ponder, Reinslee Ponder and Barryn Ponder.
Graveside Services for Gloria will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Afton, with Pastor Greg Highsmith officiating. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Afton.
