Glenn Allen Lester's Obituary
Glenn Allen "P-nut" Lester, 67, of rural Welch, OK passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 in Miami, OK after a long illness. He was born April 18, 1948 in Welch to Isaiah Lester and Clara Faye (Rhodes) Lester. He was a graduate of Welch High School Class of 1966. He was an ironworker, traveling to do construction wherever the company contract took him. He was a member of the Ironworkers Union Local 584, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Chetopa Masonic Lodge #73. Glenn dearly loved his family. He loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting. He is preceded in death by his parents. Glenn is survived by his longtime companion, Frances Dodd, of Welch, OK; two sons, Jeffery Allen Lester and wife Lucy of Indiana, and Bradley Clayton Lester and wife Anna Marie of Louisiana; 4 grandchildren; and 2 special cousins, Bill Lester and Joyce Ann Wayne. A visitation will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Services will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Pastors Chad Emerson and Gary Moore will officiate. After the service, Glenn will be cremated and his ashes buried at a later date. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Steve Grigsby, Monika Price, and the staff of Windridge Nursing and Rehab for their exceptional care.
