Gerry Sue Armstrong's Obituary
Gerry Sue Armstrong, 64, of Commerce, OK, passed away Sunday evening, January the 28th, 2024, after an extended illness, while surrounded by family.
Gerry was born June the 25th, 1959, in Miami, OK to Gerald Lee Moudy and Mary Jane (Branstetter) Moudy. She graduated from Commerce High School. She attended NEO A&M College, and then MSSU, where she earned her Bachelor Degree.
She retired from Commerce Public Schools where she taught first grade for 24 years. She loved wood carving, crafting, needlepoint, and painting furniture. She was also a hairdresser. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Commerce.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by one son, Brett Watson and wife Samie of Grove; her mother, Mary Jane Moudy of Commerce; three siblings, Marty Moudy and wife Cheryl of Miami, Mickie Nally and husband Chuck of Goddard, KS, and Kristy Moudy of Commerce; two grandchildren, Danika and Mikah Watson; five nieces and nephews, Rachel and Zak Nally, Nick Moudy, and Cory and Sammy Humble; and her dog she dearly loved, Jessie.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January the 30th, at the First Baptist Church in Commerce. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, also at the church. Pastor Tim Osborn and Pastor Howie Moss will officiate. Burial will follow in the GAR Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Sammy and Cory Humble, Nick Moudy, Kelly and Rusty Witten, and Dale Epperson.
