Gerald "Jerry" D Ketcher's Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” D. Ketcher, 84, of Miami passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Grove, Oklahoma. He was born on June 1, 1931 in Miami to Dave and Juanita “Pete” (Hicks) Ketcher. He married Betty Hendrickson in 1954 also at Miami. Jerry joined the United States Navy he was a combat veteran aboard the USS Colonial he was stationed in Washington DC after returning from Korea. Early on in life he enjoyed pretty much anything outside; water skiing, hunting and fishing. He and Betty were members of the Miami Country Club, he was a scratch golfer. Jerry retired from BF Goodrich, after working as a tire builder and later in quality control. He also enjoyed watching sports and was a Washington Redskins Fan and New York Yankees fan. Mr. Ketcher was preceded in death by his parents Dave and Juanita Ketcher and two Brothers David Ross Ketcher and Kent Ketcher.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years Betty Ketcher of the home, a son Tommy Ketcher of Blue Springs, Missouri, two brothers Sammy Ketcher and Larry Ketcher and a sister Sharon Housh. Surviving grandchildren are Christopher Ketcher and Abbie Ochoa and great grandchildren Valerie Ochoa, Gabriela Ochoa and Nicholas Ochoa.
Graveside Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, December 24, 2015 at NEO Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery with Chaplain John McPhail officiating. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
