Georgia Pauline Whisamore's Obituary
Georgia Pauline "Granny" Whisamore, 93, of Welch, Oklahoma, passed away October 15, 2014 at Windridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Miami, surrounded by her family. She was born June 1, 1921 in Muskrat, Delaware, OK to William Henry "Pap" Robertson and Ona (Haggard) "Mam" Robertson. On September 13, 1944, she married Charles "Dub" Whisamore in Ft. Smith, AR. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1994. Pauline worked for Welch Co-op, and Walker Furniture for several years. With her love for people and the need to care for them, she attended Vo-Tech, obtaining a certification in nursing. She began her nursing career at Welch Hospital and later took a job at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita. After nursing, she worked as a housekeeper for good friends, Bill and Sannie Patch, retiring after 28 years. Pauline loved the Lord, and enjoyed listening to Gospel Music. She also enjoyed traveling, playing games, and most of all, spending time with family. She was known all over the area for her cooking; especially her homemade noodles and of course, her famous pies. She leaves a legacy behind to her family; 4 daughters, Janice Walker and the late Maynard Walker, of Welch; Peggy Stutsman also of Welch; Charlotte Ann Vail and husband Steven of rural Miami; and Paula Christine Lemons and husband Gary of Marlow, OK; 7 grandchildren, Tina Windle and husband Tim, Dawn Lewis and husband Robert, Marti Mitchell and husband Jesse, Shannon Walker and wife Susan, Jake Lemons and wife Sara, Chris Lemons and wife Jo, and Eric Lemons and wife Katy; 13 great-grandchildren, Emily Gabbard and husband Matt, Elizabeth Muleski and husband Brad, Susan Lewis, Josh Lewis and wife Kristin, Bobby Lewis, Cooper and Clay Mitchell, Brody and Josie Walker, Kenley, Kylie, and Preston Lemons, and Hudson Lemons; 1 great-great grandson, Adam Gabbard; and a host of friends. She was also preceded in death by 1 grandson, Paul Wayne Farris. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, OK. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Welch Baptist Church. Rev. David Barnes and Rev. John Davis will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Shannon Walker, Jake, Chris, and Eric Lemons, Tim Windle, Jesse Mitchell, and Robert Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Riley, Bill Chaney, Tyson Keith, Brad Muleski, Matt Gabbard, Clay and Cooper Mitchell, and Josh and Bobby Lewis. Interment at Williams Timberhill Cemetery, East of Welch, OK.
