George Earl McWethy's Obituary
George Earl McWethy, 85 a resident of Wyandotte, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. George was born on May 1, 1938, in Picher, Oklahoma to Francis McWethy and Patricia (Weigel) Fowler. After his service with the 101st Airborne he worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant for about four years before a thirty-four-year career with Newell Coach as a Mechanic. On January 26, 1968, he married his wife Roberta “Penny” (Marlow) McWethy in
Miami. Mr. McWethy was preceded in passing by his parents Francis and Patricia, and a son James McWethy.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years Penny McWethy of the home, a son, Mark McWethy of the home, and Joseph McWethy and his wife Katherine of Tulsa, a sister, Ruth Foster, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Graveside Services for George will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery in Miami with Reverend Gary Rhodes officiating.
