Gaylin Lonnie Rogers' Obituary
Gaylin Lonnie Rogers, 72, passed away Sunday evening, March 21, 2021, at his rural Welch, Okla. home.
He was born March 11, 1949 in Miami, Okla. to Alfred Fred Rogers and Gallah Lorene (Griffith) Rogers. He was a graduate of Welch High School. After graduation, he attended Vo-Tech in Muskogee where he received training in diesel mechanics. He served his country from 1969-1971 in the United States Army.
On January 9, 1988, he married the former Norma Hoener in a ceremony in Welch. They made their home northwest of Welch where he enjoyed being a rancher. Prior to ranching, he was a heavy equipment operator for Brakefield Equipment for 33 years. He was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church. He loved cattle, horses, camping, but most of all, his grandkids.
Gaylin is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma, of the home; two sons, Brentley John Rogers and wife Sheryl of Welch, and Brandon Chad Rogers of Copan; a brother, Rollin Rogers and wife Phyllis of Welch; two grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two nephews.
The family will received friends from 6-7 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 27, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Rogers Cemetery, northwest of Welch. Pastor Gary Richardson will officiate.
Casket bearers will be Darrin and Chism Hoener, Willard Gilman, Lonnie Gilman, Jarrod Causey, and Keith Phillips.
Honorary casket bearers will be Josh George, Matthew George, and Jackie Miller.
