Frankie B Munoz's Obituary
Frankie Burton Munoz, an eighty-five year old longtime Miami resident and Security Bank Vice President passed away at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center on Monday, February 25, 2013. He was born on November 20, 1927 in Quapaw, Oklahoma to Fernando and Mary (Henning) Munoz. After graduation from Columbus High School Frank joined the United States Marines. He went on to play baseball in Georgia on a farm league team before coming to NEO A&M to play Football, Baseball, and Basketball; he completed his business degree at Wichita State University. On January 19, 1951 in Miami, he married his wife of sixty-one years Rosalie Hatfield. Mr. Munoz worked for Swift and Company for about ten years as a salesman then spent many years as a Vice President at the Security Bank and Trust Company in Miami where he worked as a loan officer. After retirement Frank continued to serve on the Security Bank and Trust board until 2012. He and Rosalie are longtime members of the First Baptist Church in Miami where he was an usher and greeter. Mr. Munoz loved to golf and was a longtime member of the Miami Golf and Country Club. He was well known as an avid KU fan. Mr. Munoz was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Johnny Munoz and a sister Bea Cowan.
Surviving family are the love of his life, Rosalie Munoz of the home, a son David Munoz and his wife Susan of Tulsa, Ellen Jurgensmeyer and her husband Curtis of Miami, his grandchildren Andrea Forrester and her husband Brian, Laura Jurgensmeyer, Alex Jurgensmeyer, Jason Munoz and his wife Andra, Corey Munoz and Kallie Munoz. Also his four great-grandchildren Max Munoz, Brooks Munoz, Sidney Forrester and Noah Forrester, one brother Joe Munoz of Lawton and two sisters Sylvina May of Kansas City, Missouri and Deanie Johnson of Columbus, Kansas.
Visitation for Mr. Munoz will be on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Miami.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Longcrier officiating. Interment will follow at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery in Miami under the care of the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
Casketbearers will be Grant Longcrier, Joe Sharbutt, Jason Munoz, Dustin Ellis, David Ellis and Andy Young
