Francis Ray "Chigger" King's Obituary
Francis Ray “Chigger” King, 64, a longtime area resident passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Freeman Health Systems in Joplin, Missouri. Mr. King was born on June 16, 1950 in Miami, Oklahoma to Jewel and JoNelle (Furnish) King. “Chigger” as Francis Ray was mostly known graduated from Miami High School with the class of 1968. He worked in retail as a salesman, where he worked in San Antonio, Wichita, Alton, Illinois and Florida. Mr. King loved to Crappie fish, play pool and animals. He was preceded in passing by his dad Jewel King and a brother Theodore H. “Pepper” King.
Survivors include his mother JoNelle King of Miami, a son Rusty King and his wife Nicole of Lima, Ohio, their children Hailey King and R.J. King, along with two brothers Brad King of Miami and Richard “Punkin” King of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is also survived by his many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Cooper Memorial Chapel at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami with Reverend Dwight Moeller officiating. Interment will follow at the Ottawa Indian Cemetery in Miami.
Casketbearers will be Richard King, Brad King, Casey King, Colton King, Wade King and Randy Kostelecky.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the American Kidney Fund in care of the funeral home.
