Frances J. Norton's Obituary
Frances J. Norton, 80, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021, at her home, after a long illness.
She was born in Mountain View, Okla. on December 18, 1940 to Lee Edward White and Lillie (Morris) White. She was a high school graduate. She was a homemaker, concentrating on raising her family they best she could.
She was married to Elmer Dean Davis for many years. After his passing, she married Clarence Norton. He precedes her in death as well.
For many years, she lived in the Russell Creek area northeast of Welch before moving in to Chetopa. Later in life, she moved to Wichita to be near her daughter.
She is preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; and four siblings, Lela Underwood, Bill, Lawrence, and Cecil White.
She is survived by one daughter, Norma Combs, of Wichita; four siblings, Joann Guinn, Nita McDowell, Carol Cassey, and Patricia Chiles; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Faith Victory Church in Chetopa. Pastor Nancy Whetstone will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
