Floyd Vernon Triece's Obituary
Floyd Vernon "Strawberry" Triece, Jr., 79, a lifelong resident of Welch, OK, passed away Thursday, March the 19th, 2026, at Freeman West in Joplin, MO, surrounded by his family.
He was born January the 15th, 1947, in Miami, OK to Floyd Vernon Triece and Ollie Oreta (Woolard) Triece. He was a graduate of Welch High School. He later attended NEO A&M College where he obtained an Associate Degree. He then attended Oklahoma State University for one year.
He was married to Eva Downing, and she preceded him in death. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a truck driver for APAC for many years. His hobbies have been roping calves, fishing, bingo, and playing pool. He was known for his contagious "Triece" laugh.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva; and his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Cody and Sky Triece; a brother, Robert Triece and wife Linda; an uncle and aunt, Richard and Rosemary Woolard; several cousins, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March the 22nd, 2026, at the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch.
