Evertt "Sonny" James Stamback's Obituary
Evertt "Sonny" James Stamback, 78, a lifetime Miami resident passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He was born on September 13, 1942 in Miami to Chester Emil and Irene (Pace) Stamback. Early on he attended Spartan School of Aeronautics to be a mechanic. It was thought he mainly went to work on his own plane that he enjoyed flying. Sonny worked for Bingham and other local companies driving a semi. He also farmed most all his life and enjoyed cars. He was most proud of his 1961 Corvette. He was known to his family and friends as a story teller. Sonny was preceded in passing by his parents, and wife Ethel “Kay” (Vandiver) Stamback, along with two sisters Jean Booth and Joann Montgomery.
Survivors include his sister Sharon Montgomery and his many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Glen Abbey Memorial Garden in Miami under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
