Elnora Belle Phillips' Obituary
Elnora Belle Phillips, 89, of Edna, KS, passed away late Saturday evening, February 21st, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Welch, OK on January 24th, 1937 to Preston Monroe Cook and Opal Lucille (Rexwinkle) Cook. She was a high school graduate and continued her education by taking some college courses.
On May 25th, 1955, she married the love of her life, James William Phillips, in a ceremony in Miami, OK. They migrated to California where they spent many enjoyable years together. She worked as a branch manager for Bank of America in Torrence, CA, retiring after 34 years of service.
After the passing of her husband, she moved to Edna, KS to be near her family. She was a member of the Lawndale Church of Christ in California. In her free time, she enjoyed camping, serving her community, serving as treasurer of her church, and serving on the county election board.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two grandchildren, David Marquez and Chance Sandusky; and two brothers.
She is survived by three daughters, Christy Molnar of Sebastopol, CA, Leslie Sandusky and husband Curtis of Edna, KS, and Marcella Puente and husband Vic of Lancaster, CA; four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 27th, 2026, at the Crosstimbers Community Church in Edna. Burial will follow in the Edna Elm Grove Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Pastor Danny Rexwinkle will officiate.
